I am so excited that you have landed here and are interested in embarking on this magical journey of self-discovery and self-empowerment. My intention for creating this membership site is to help you connect deeper with your self. I want to show you that everything you need to feel inner peace, happiness, and confidence is within you. When I first discovered breathwork in 2018, I was amazed at how the simple act of intentional breathing could completely shift my emotional and mental state. Since becoming certified as a facilitator, it’s been my mission to help people understand that power of getting out of our heads and living from our bodies. Embodiment is the key to transformation and empowerment and I’m excited for you to experience this truth for yourself.

Is this a committment or can I cancel anytime?

You can cancel anytime! (although you won't want to😉)

What are the benefits of breathwork?

Breathwork helps you reduce stress, increase energy, process and release emotion, heal from trauma and injuries, clear stuck or stagnant energy, improve focus and clarity, revitalize your organs, strengthens your core, eliminates toxins and develop a stronger sense of self.
 

What are the common side effects?

Breathwork is a completely safe practice; however, the body will respond in physical ways that may seem odd. Tetany is the most common physical side effect; it’s where your hands will curl inwards toward your heart or tense up like "lobster claws". This usually passes within 15 minutes of completing the practice. You may also experience tingling in your hands/feet or ringing in your ears - all of which will subside after the session. During the session, your body may shake, move around, or you’ll feel the need to scream. This is all part of the energetic release.

What are the contraindications of breathwork?

Breathwork can result in physiological changes in the body and/or intense physical and emotional release. As a precaution, the following conditions are contraindicated in certain breathwork practices. It is crucial that you inform your breathwork practitioner if any of the following conditions are relevant to you:
» Pregnancy
» Detached Retina
» Glaucoma
» High Blood Pressure (not controlled with medication)
» Cardiovascular disease including angina, previous heart attack or stroke.
» Diagnosis of aneurysm in the brain or abdomen
» Uncontrolled thyroid conditions and diabetes
» Asthma – if asthmatic, it's recommended to bring your inhaler to the session.
» Epilepsy
» Prior diagnosis of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or previous psychiatric condition.
» Hospitalization for any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis within the last 10 years.
» Any other medical, psychiatric or physical conditions which would impair or affect ability to engage in any activities that involve intense physical and/or emotional release.

Is breathwork safe for pregnancy?

Meditative breathwork is not recommended for pregnant women. The practice can create intense emotionality within the system, which may create emotional disruption for the baby. However, integrative breathwork is perfectly safe and provides lots of benefits such as stress reduction and pain relief. Breathwork is highly recommended prenatal to allow for the release of past trauma and to create a healthy energetic environment for the baby, as well as postnatal. Breathwork is also safe to use when breastfeeding.

My mind is always chattering...will it ever stop?

It's possible, but it's ok if it doesn't (especially right away)! The point of breathwork is not to "get rid of your thoughts" but to help you change your relationship to them. Your thoughts are simply trying to protect you from entering your body. When we do breathwork we are intentionally surrendering our mind, so we can access deeper wisdom in our body. It can feel scary for the mind at first because it thinks your body isn't a safe place. BUT what we get to do in this work is re-train the mind to believe that your body is, in fact, a safe place. Through consistently showing up, your body WILL eventually "take over" and you will be able to reach the inner peace and stillness you desire.

I tend to cry a lot with breathwork...is this normal?

Completely! Crying is our body's natural way of releasing emotions! When we have not allowed ourselves to feel for so long, we suppress that energy in our system. So, once we finally embark on the journey of self-healing, it's normal for the body to release the stagnant energy that it's been longing to let go of. My invitation is to release any shame you may have around this, and let your body do the work. Ultimately, it's safe to feel and to release - so trust your body and let the magic unfold.
