WHAT IS BREATHWORK?

  • Breathwork is an amazing tool for getting out of the chaos of our mind and being more connected in our bodies.
  • Breathwork regulates our nervous system by alkalinizing our body and shifting us from our sympathetic nervous system ("fight or flight" response) to our restorative and healing system, the parasympathetic nervous system.
  • Breathwork creates a self-healing process that allows us to use the energetics of the system to heal the trauma, stuck emotions, and pain locked within the system.

I love breathwork for so many reasons, but one of my main goals is to globalize this self-healing tool to help grapplers and other athletes tap into their highest potential by connecting deeper with themselves.⠀⠀
If you don't know my story, lemme give you a quick run down.
I've been an athlete since I was 7 years old and have struggled with food, body image, eating disorders, overexercising, self-acceptance, perfectionism, unworthiness, and achievement patterns my entire life - UNTIL I found breathwork.
Finding breathwork in 2018 changed my life. I had my first breathwork session ever at a live event in San Diego and my mind was blown. All I remember from that session was feeling all states of bliss, happiness, and gratitude. I felt so free and light + without a doubt, that experience left an imprint.
Fast forward 2019, I heard about the Pause Breathwork Facilitator Training Certification Program and I enrolled right away. I knew that this was an opportunity of a lifetime to learn more about this amazing practice "called breathwork".
Through this 7-month vigorous training program, I learned so much about myself and healed lifelong patterns of perfectionism, unworthiness and scarcity.
NOW it's my turn to give back.
I've been on a lifelong quest to acquire and embody all the tools for human optimization and it's my unbending belief that breathwork  has been THE tool I've been looking for all along.
Hands down it is the BEST self-healing modality that will help you peel back the layers of who you thought you were, so you can uncover and step into the truth of who you ACTUALLY are.

FAQ

Do you offer any 1:1 sessions?

Yes! Individual breathwork sessions are available. No matter your level, I require anyone interested in 1:1 sessions to start with my Intro To Breathwork Package (4 sessions + complimentary 30 min zoom connection call)
Individual sessions are generally $300 USD per session
The Intro to Breathwork Package is a one-time investment of $800 USD for all 4 sessions ($400 savings)
Each session is 60-90 minutes in length. It depends on your need and our intention of the session.
Generally, integrative sessions are 60 minutes and meditative sessions are 90 minutes.

NOTE: Reschedule Policy - To honor each other's time and energy, all sessions must be rescheduled with 48 hour notice to prevent cancellation and forfeit of agreed upon session.

What are the common side effects?

Breathwork is a completely safe practice; however, the body will respond in physical ways that may seem odd. Tetany is the most common physical side effect; it’s where your hands will curl inwards toward your heart or tense up like "lobster claws". This usually passes within 15 minutes of completing the practice. You may also experience tingling in your hands/feet or ringing in your ears - all of which will subside after the session. During the session, your body may shake, move around, or you’ll feel the need to scream. This is all part of the energetic release.

Is breathwork safe for pregnancy?

Meditative breathwork is not recommended for pregnant women. The practice can create intense emotionality within the system, which may create emotional disruption for the baby. However, integrative breathwork is perfectly safe and provides lots of benefits such as stress reduction and pain relief. Breathwork is highly recommended prenatal to allow for the release of past trauma and to create a healthy energetic environment for the baby, as well as postnatal. Breathwork is also safe to use when breastfeeding.

What are the contraindications of breathwork?

Breathwork can result in physiological changes in the body and/or intense physical and emotional release. As a precaution, the following conditions are contraindicated in certain breathwork practices. It is crucial that you inform your breathwork practitioner if any of the following conditions are relevant to you:
» Pregnancy
» Detached Retina
» Glaucoma
» High Blood Pressure (not controlled with medication)
» Cardiovascular disease including angina, previous heart attack or stroke.
» Diagnosis of aneurysm in the brain or abdomen
» Uncontrolled thyroid conditions and diabetes
» Asthma – if asthmatic, it's recommended to bring your inhaler to the session.
» Epilepsy
» Prior diagnosis of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or previous psychiatric condition.
» Hospitalization for any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis within the last 10 years.
» Any other medical, psychiatric or physical conditions which would impair or affect ability to engage in any activities that involve intense physical and/or emotional release.
